Polish Heritage Day
We invite all to attend the Polish Heritage Day. This celebrates the new Polish Democratic Constitution established on the 3rd of May 1792.
As part of celebrations, we are planning to organise a Polish Heritage Day festival at POSK, the Polish Social and Cultural Association, 238-246 King Street, London W6 0RF, in Hammersmith on the 6th of May 2017 to showcase the thriving relationship between our nations as well as the contribution of the Polish community to the history, culture and society of the United Kingdom. The event, open to everyone, will commence at 2pm with the lecture ‘Polish History is Splendid’ given by prof. dr Tomasz Panfil from the KUL University in Lublin (a translator will be present); there will also be available an English book entitled ‘Polish History from 966 to 2016’. Moreover there will be a brief ‘tour’ of the Polish regions by the Polish Tourist Organisation as well as many booklets and leaflets about them. During the day there will be sweet Polish delicacies from Polish Bakery to taste and at 6.30pm dinner in the Lowiczanka Restaurant there with its superb Polish dishes.
Other local organisations and groups will also participate in the festival elsewhere around the UK. They will present their culture and traditions.
We are proud of our shared heritage and would like to demonstrate that local communities can cooperate and work together to build a brighter future. As Poles around the world celebrate the National Day, as well as the Polish Diaspora Day on 2nd May, we also hope that the local council will join in the festivities and support the Polish community by symbolically putting up the white and red flag on that day; this gesture would mean a lot to the Polish communities across the United Kingdom.

na panel pt. „Historia Polski jest wspaniała”.
Wykłady historyczne, profilowane dla uczniów i dla dorosłej publiczności na ten temat wygłosi gość specjalny z Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego KUL z Lublina
Prof. dr hab. TOMASZ PANFIL
Wykłady będą poświęcone 1000 – letniej, przekrojowej historii Polski.
Ponadto zostanie wyświetlony film Tomasza Bagińskiego pt. „Animowana Historia Polski”,
wcześniej był prezentowany i nagrodzony w 2010 roku na Poland Expo Shanghai.
Rozdane będą książki „Historia Polski od 966 do 2016 roku” w wydaniu specjalnym wydrukowanym przez IPN Warszawa na „Dni Młodzieży”, które odbyły się w Krakowie w 2016.
W programie włączony jest także poczęstunek z lampką wina i gadżety dla uczestników.
Kolacja w „Łowiczance” z udziałem gości honorowych dla chętnych o godz.18.30.
